When Things Break (And They Will)
Troubleshooting is not technical. It is just showing Claude what went wrong.
The Core Insight: "I don't have to know what the errors mean. I just have to know where to find them and paste them into Claude."
By The Time You're Done
What We'll Cover
Things will break. This is not a question of if but when.
The good news: you don’t need to understand why they broke. You just need to know how to show Claude what happened.
The Screenshot Method
Something doesn’t look right? Take a screenshot. Drag it into the terminal. Say: “Hey, this isn’t working. What’s going on?”
That’s it. Claude will figure it out.
The Copy-Paste Method
If you’re deploying something (Railway, WordPress, etc.) and it fails, there are logs somewhere. You don’t need to understand what the logs mean. You just need to:
- Find the logs
- Copy them
- Paste them into Claude
- Say “fix this”
Where to Find Errors
- Chrome Developer Tools: Right-click → Inspect → Console tab
- Railway: Logs tab in your service
- Terminal: The red text that appears when something fails
The Mindset Shift
Errors are not scary. They’re information. They’re Claude’s instructions for fixing the problem. Your job is just to relay them.
This is why having someone to ask is valuable—not to fix things for you, but to tell you where to look.
