Words have absolutely no real meaning at a physics level. That might sound strange coming from someone who writes. But it’s true. At the most fundamental level, words are just sounds or symbols.
However, they are absolutely containers for patterned energy. This is where it gets interesting. Words carry intention, emotion, and vibration. They transmit something far beyond their dictionary definitions.
That’s why two people can use the exact same phrase and mean two completely different things. One person says “I love you” from genuine depth. Another says it from obligation or manipulation. Same words. Completely different energy.
Why Affirmations Fail
This is why affirmations don’t work if you can’t believe what you’re saying. They’re often detrimental when said from a low energy space. You can repeat “I am worthy” a thousand times. If you don’t feel it, you’re just reinforcing the gap between your words and your truth.
The body knows. Your subconscious knows. You can’t trick yourself with hollow repetition. The energy behind the words either matches or it doesn’t.
I’ve watched people exhaust themselves with positive affirmations. They speak the right words but never shift their inner state. The words become another form of self-deception, another layer of performance.
Magic Is in the Energy
The positive thinking movement often gets too caught up in properly using words. Say this, not that. Think positive, never negative. It becomes a game of linguistic perfectionism.
But the energy behind those words is where all of the magic is happening. You can say something imperfectly with genuine feeling, and it lands. You can say something perfectly crafted with no feeling, and it falls flat.
Spiritual discernment is about learning to read the patterned energy behind the words, rather than seeing only the words. This applies to others and to yourself. Can you feel what someone really means? Can you feel what you really mean?
Feeling Meaning
Conscious awakening for me has been about learning to feel meaning rather than think it. This sounds abstract until you experience it directly.
There’s a moment when you stop processing everything through language and start sensing the energy underneath. Conversations become richer. Your own inner dialogue becomes more honest. You stop performing your thoughts and start actually having them.
Words are tools. Powerful ones. But they’re not the thing itself. They point toward meaning without being meaning. The map isn’t the territory.
Using Words Consciously
None of this means words don’t matter. They matter deeply. But they matter because of what you put into them, not because of some magic formula.
Speak from your center. Say what you actually mean. Let your words carry the energy you want them to carry. That’s the real work. Not finding the perfect phrase, but becoming the kind of person whose words naturally carry weight.
When your inner state aligns with your outer expression, words become almost unnecessary. But when you do use them, they hit different. People feel it. You feel it.
