Signs the Universe Wants You to Stay Away from Someone: The Potential That Surrounds You

Signs from the universe come in many forms: great ideas, sudden motivation, feelings of love or clarity. Who does the bestowing is less important than knowing you're bestow-able.

From the Vault

I wrote this 7 years, 6 months ago. My thinking has probably evolved—some ideas deepened, others abandoned, a few transformed entirely. For how I'm currently thinking about things, check out what I'm working on today or Jesus Lightning.

Found this through Google? You just proved a point I've made often. This post is still working years later—no ad spend, no algorithm games. SEO is the highest-ROI investment any creator can make. I can help you build that.

“Spiritual Entourage” is the phrase I use to define the POTENTIAL that exists all around me. Sometimes that potential shows up as signs the universe wants you to stay away from someone. Other times it’s pulling you toward something greater.

What Signs from the Universe Actually Look Like

I’m not 100% sure whether there are actual entities and spiritual beings around me at all times, guiding me. But I am certain that there’s always “additional potential” available to me in some form.

These signs might look like a great idea or new inspiration. They might be the motivation to actually do something I know I should do. They might just be a feeling of being loved or a feeling of clarity or knowing in a moment I need it.

And yes, sometimes they’re warning signs. That gut feeling telling you someone isn’t right. The repeated red flags you keep ignoring. The exhaustion you feel after every interaction with a particular person.

The signs are often quiet. Easy to dismiss as coincidence or overthinking. But when you start paying attention, patterns emerge that are hard to ignore.

Different Teachers, Same Insight

Tom Campbell would call the “spiritual entourage” the form or metaphor your mind gives the guidance you’re receiving from the larger consciousness system.

AJ Miller would say you have benevolent spiritual guides that are either on the natural love or divine love path and always looking to drop thoughts in your mind which will serve you.

Abraham-Hicks would say that non-physical energy delights to see you actualize your potential in the physical realm and they move with you into that potential, aligning things on the road to achieving the leading edge.

Different frameworks, same essential idea: you’re not alone, and guidance is available if you’re willing to receive it.

When the Universe Is Warning You

Signs the universe wants you to stay away from someone don’t always look like neon signs. Sometimes they’re subtle. That tightness in your chest. The way you feel smaller around them. The pattern of broken promises.

Your body knows before your mind catches up. Learn to trust that knowing.

I’ve ignored these signs before. Every time, I paid for it later. Not as punishment, but as consequence. The warning was there. I chose not to listen.

Now I pay closer attention to how my body responds to people. It’s rarely wrong.

The Real Point

However you define it, there’s VALUE in expecting that POTENTIAL can seemingly come out of nowhere and be BESTOWED upon you.

WHO is doing the bestowing isn’t so important as knowing that you are BESTOW-ABLE.

That’s what I mean when I talk about signs from the universe. It’s a helpful metaphor or trojan horse for tricking my mind, body, and spirit into being greater than it thinks it can be.

Pay attention. The guidance is always there. Sometimes it’s pulling you forward. Sometimes it’s protecting you by pulling you back.

Both directions serve your growth. Both are worth listening to.

Godspeed.
