Raise your vibration because that’s where all the power is. Masters of our own reality. That’s what we all want to be, right? Levitating books and fruit across the room?
Maybe. But more likely, we just want to create things. Have you ever noticed how hard it is to create something, to do anything, when you don’t feel good?
It’s difficult to create when you’re not in alignment. It’s like the parable of the man in the rowboat who keeps trying to force his way upstream with a paddle. It’s hard work.
We want to create when we’re feeling good. When we’re in alignment. That way, we turn the boat downstream and enjoy the view.
The Power Is In Feeling Good
It feels good to feel good. That’s because when we’re feeling good, everything is going according to our divine plan. We’re literally creating our own reality and allowing it to unfold in front of us.
But then we start to worry. We get out of bed and say, “Today’s going to be a long day. I hope my boss doesn’t get mad at me. It’s going to be tough to get through this one.”
And we’re right. It is going to be tough. Because we’ve already decided it will be.
Feeling good. That’s where the power is. That’s what alignment feels like. Once you experience it enough, you start to expect it. And once you expect it, it always comes.
Reaching for Better
We don’t need rituals. But they help get us moving in the right direction.
No one expects you to leap from grief to joy in a single bound. But you never have to dwell on the dark feelings. Feel for something just slightly better than what you’re feeling now. This creates a snowball effect.
Think about kittens. Seriously, try it. Try to think about kittens without feeling better. It’s nearly impossible.
Take a walk. Sometimes getting a little blood flowing, catching fresh air, and changing your scenery is the ticket.
Breathe. Slowly take in as much breath as you can and then let it all out. Intentional breathing is powerful enough to change your physiology.
The Quick Shifts
Smile. These are contagious. Even if you don’t feel like it, force yourself. It’s hard to physically smile without feeling the emotional effects almost instantly.
Be thankful. We live in such a fast-paced world that we forget to appreciate the simple things. Take a second to say thank you for something.
Do something nice for someone. That righteous feeling you get when you help someone out is real. They’ll appreciate it. You’ll feel better.
Shake it off. Dwelling on something that already happened doesn’t help. Shake it off and move forward. Live for now.
The Deeper Practices
Use your imagination. When you were a kid, it was fun to create and explore magical lands with mystical people. You can still do that. Find a quiet space. Close your eyes. Invent your adventure.
Meditate. Breathe deeply and push out any thoughts that come into focus. Sometimes stepping away from everything allows you to find new perspective.
Forgive yourself. Whatever you did in your past has nothing to do with what you’re doing right now. Forgive yourself and move on.
Write it out. Putting it on paper and seeing it laid out can provide much-needed perspective. The next time you have a problem, write it out. The solution might just come to you.
The Choice
Everything always works out. Every time you break up with someone, every time someone dies, every time you lose your job, you feel like it’s never going to get better.
But it always does.
You find a better partner. You realize that spirit is eternal. You get work that you actually love.
Things always work out. So look forward to the future.
Just decide to feel good. Feeling good is a choice. Once you choose it, it comes pretty easily.
Expect to feel good. Stop living in fear of what might happen. Expect to feel good and then live it.
When you expect awesome things to happen to you, they usually do.
This is the lens the Bible is meant to be read through.
