The process of emotions is what I wish someone had told me about networking in 2008. Back then, I wrote about tactics. How to work a room, how to get business from events. I was chasing ego desires. I wanted to get rich. I wanted material stuff.
Now I understand networking completely differently.
We’re All Nodes in a Network
Everyone is a node in a larger consciousness network. Like blockchain nodes, with a joint mission of reducing entropy in the system.
The network rewards nodes that are good at processing chaos into order. When we do deep somatic integration work, shadow work, we’re essentially mining bitcoin. We’re solving complexity in the consciousness system by processing incoherent energy back into coherence.
Just like a bitcoin miner, we’re rewarded when we do this work. Life rewards you, God rewards you, for being a node that turns chaos into coherence. The rewards aren’t always what you expected, but they’re always what you needed.
What I Actually Wanted
Back then I was trying to extract value from rooms full of people. Now I want something different.
I want the game to keep going. I don’t care about stuff beyond the basic necessities. I just want to find games that are big and fun and require all of me. I want to find games where I can help the most amount of people.
I’m not interested in stuff as much as I’m interested in finding processes that I can fall in love with, where the reward is simply getting to show up to such an incredible game and be excellent.
How the Best Connections Happen
The best connections don’t come from tactics. They come from being an efficient node, from processing your own chaos into coherence so thoroughly that you naturally transmit that coherence to everyone around you.
When we’re coherent, it’s like joining links or holding hands. We become more powerful. We’re given more responsibility, which really means bigger experiences, bigger data packets to process.
As our nervous system grows, we become the type of person who can handle bigger and bigger experiences. We become a more valuable node to the network. The connections follow the coherence, not the tactics.
Processes Over Goals
What I learned about networking applies everywhere: processes that you love, that you’ll show up to every single day regardless of outcome, are so much more effective than goals.
If we can find processes we love, then the reward is instantaneous. We love the work. We love showing up to the process.
This is what being an efficient node is all about. Not extracting value from rooms. Being so coherent that value flows naturally to and through you. That’s the process of emotions networking actually teaches.
This is shadow work in action.
