Grace Before Meals: Why Blessing Your Food Actually Works

Grace before meals isn't just tradition. You're activating your quantum energy field and informing the food how to react with your body.

From the Vault

I wrote this 13 years, 1 month ago. My thinking has probably evolved—some ideas deepened, others abandoned, a few transformed entirely. For how I'm currently thinking about things, check out what I'm working on today or Jesus Lightning.

Found this through Google? You just proved a point I've made often. This post is still working years later—no ad spend, no algorithm games. SEO is the highest-ROI investment any creator can make. I can help you build that.

Listen while you workout, cook, or commute.

Anyone that has grown up in any tradition knows that it’s customary to bless your food. But do we really understand why saying grace before meals is important? Or is it just something we’ve always done?

Acceptance of tradition without understanding is one of the greatest flaws of our global society.

What Blessing Actually Does

When you pray or bless your food, what you’re really doing is activating your quantum energy field (or body consciousness) plus the consciousness existing in the food you’re eating, and informing it how you’d like it to react with your body.

If thoughts are things, then grace before meals can create a quantum probability that allows external factors to work in your favor. You digest food better, take in more nutrients, or rid yourself of harmful toxins. I call this body talk.

Consciousness Affects Matter

In quantum mechanics, we’re starting to understand how consciousness affects that which surrounds it. Particles of light are altered in experiments where someone is watching, meaning that the science is different based on who is watching and what they’re thinking.

Studies have shown that water records information much like a hard drive might. Though water acquires new properties and information, its chemical composition remains unchanged. What scientists are starting to understand is that the way molecules cluster at a molecular level might be even more important than chemical composition.

Researchers have shown that directing a certain consciousness or thought into water particles will directly affect how those particles take form. When water particles are given kind or uplifting intent and then frozen, they take on beautiful snowflake-type forms. When negative intent is projected, the molecules take on a much more jarring and disjointed form.

The Practice of Body Talk

When you bless your food or talk to it, what you’re really doing is setting an intent for the form or structure you’d like the food to take.

If you believe in a God, you’re asking God to allow this food to take on its highest and most nutritious form. If you don’t, you’re using quantum theory that our thoughts can affect outside stimuli, and with pure intent, you’re asking the food and your body consciousness to perform the highest possible good with this meal.

It might sound crazy, but you don’t necessarily have to do this out loud. Spirit or quantum physics don’t understand words; they understand energy. Merely projecting a positive intent for your food is enough.

Why Your Beliefs About Food Matter

When you believe that a food is going to make you fat, it does. When you give thanks for your food and ask it to take on its highest form, when you ask your body consciousness to only take that which will serve your body, then you’ll find that foods that always made you fat or depressed in the past don’t have as much influence on you.

By giving thanks for your food and asking it to take on its highest form, your body consciousness will either take on any nutrients and pass the rest right through you, or it will eliminate some of the cravings you have for food that isn’t good for you.

Try It for Yourself

How do we prove any of this? The best way is to give it a try and see if it works for you. Naturally, you need to believe it will work. This is called pure intent and is the basis of any prayer, meditation, mantra, or affirmation actually working.

The belief that a ritual will work is far more important than the ritual itself.

In a conceptual world, you don’t have to have your theory accepted by modern science to be right. It only has to work for you.

Happy experimenting.
