For the past few weeks, I’ve watched rerun after rerun. With the writer’s strike still in effect, there are predictions that we won’t see any new television programming until 2009. Fortunately, my Netflix que is loaded up and I’m catching up on some movies I should have seen years ago (Midnight Cowboy, anyone?). Many writers are already taking their skills to the web and putting out webisodes on their own terms.
This brings up and interesting question. If you were running a television network, what type of programming would you want to see most? As more and more viewers watch entertainment media online, what type of programming is making good web content and what type of programming is falling short? What do you think the writer’s strike is going to lead to in the future?
