Google and MySpace are now partners…

by Jon Ray on November 17, 2007

Google has announced that they will be partnering with MySpace and several other social networks over a common set of APIs for social applications across multiple websites.

What does that mean for you?
It means that all of the cool applications that made Facebook such a useful place to go to are now going to be available across multiple social networks (should the developers make them available).

What does that mean for your company?
It means that should you design a compelling application, you now have access to nearly 200 million people that can place said application in their social network of choice. That’s a lot of exposure! Click here to see a quick video showing how Flixter (a popular Facebook application) is utilizing OpenSocial within MySpace. Or see the video below to hear the Flixter Founders talking about Google OpenSocial.

Just trying out some new types of writing to those who read this far. Apparently, I’m a writer now, so that means I have to find a voice, supposedly. Feel free to tell me exactly how you felt about this style, story, content, etc. Hurt my feelings if you want, I just need the feedback or the people who pay me money will beat me with a bone whip. And if you're enjoying this blog, consider commenting or subscribing for free.
